The Loves Local Gift Card offers a fantastic new way to spend local and to continue to support businesses in your area.
The card has been launched recently in West Dunbartonshire to help communities #ChooseLocal and works in very much the same way as a store gift voucher. The big difference is that, as it is rolled out, it will be accepted by ALL of the businesses that sign up to participate in West Dunbartonshire – from local independents to big high street brands.
The Scotland Loves Local campaign is a national initiative, led by Scotland’s Towns Partnership, designed to encourage all those who live in Scotland to think local first and support their high streets.
In West Dunbartonshire it is being supported by West Dunbartonshire Council and being promoted by Dunbartonshire Chamber of Commerce who have been leading the Loves Local Campaign to promote our high streets and support our local economy, jobs and communities.
We have great mix of wonderful businesses across West Dunbartonshire from Balloch & Loch Lomond, Alexandria & The Vale of Leven to Dumbarton and Clydebank (and everywhere in-between!). We really are spoilt for choice with a rich tapestry of independently run shops in all of our towns and villages as well as many of the big names at Clyde Shopping Centre and the likes of Marks & Spencer at the St James Retail Park in Dumbarton and House of Fraser at Loch Lomond Shores in Balloch.

West Dunbartonshire stretches from the breathtakingly scenic Loch Lomond and Balloch all the way to Clydebank the largest town - that shares a proud industrial past with Alexandria/The Vale of Leven and Dumbarton (the ancient capital of Scotland!)
Loch Lomond Shores and Balloch provide an iconic gateway to the highlands whilst Dumbarton Castle is steeped in history and the Denny Tank Museum gives an insight into the area’s industrial past. A cycle path links West Dunbartonshire all the way to Glasgow and passes through Clydebank (home to the Titan Crane, Clyde Shopping Centre and Clydebank Museum – where you can find out about the John Brown Shipyard and Singer amongst other fascinating exhibits). At Bowling Harbour you will find the Bowline, West Dunbartonshire’s answer to the Highline in New York and stroll along the Forth & Clyde Canal that links the village with Clydebank and beyond to Edinburgh.
